Our work environment

January 9, 2016Brad Peterson

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up. – Ephesians 4:29a

Recently our church staff revisited several core values that shape our work environment. To function as a unified team, the need for unanimous “buy in” on several, key values is critical.

At the top of the list? Honor & Respect each other.

This includes all the ways we talk to—and about—one another, even when they’re not around. Showing respect, honor, and kindness is possible, even if we’re upset or hurt. It’s not always easy, but it is possible.

What about you, your marriage, your family, your workplace or your team? Could you apply this to your own mouth, and even use your influence and leadership to create a culture that builds up, versus tears down?

Real men build up others.

As a husband, dad, pastor, counselor, hoop legend (the older he gets the better he was), Brad finds himself a jack of all trades master of none. Basketball, family trips and exploring new food sauces are some of the things he enjoys most.
