Sat // Build :: Authentic

April 11, 2015Paul Vorvick

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up. – Ephesians 4:29a

To be authentic we need to be the same person in every situation. For instance, at work, at home, at social functions. This “sameness”, or lack thereof, certainly shows up in the words we use. While we need to use discretion about what we say depending on context, it’s good to consider if our words build others up or tear them down. We should also look at what we say about ourselves. Do you have a clear conscience about the words you use? Do your words align with God’s truth? Check it.
