Thu // Warrior :: Engage

August 28, 2014Scott Mitchell

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” – Ephesians 6:12

I see the word engage and my mind goes to movies that have battle scenes in them like Braveheart or 300, these are examples of what it look like to engage in battle. In both movies, it was clear who the enemy was and clear what was going to happen, hand-to-hand combat. It’s not always clear to us.

Who is our enemy? That is the key to engaging in spiritual warfare is understanding who our enemy really is. Satan and his army are very well organized and they are busy fighting God and God’s people. We need to know that our battle is with Satan and his demons; so many times I engage the wrong the person or issue. This is exactly what he wants, he doesn’t want us to engage him directly, and he knows Christ has our backs and he is already lost the battle.

Real Men engage in Spiritual Warfare.
