Sunday // Sacrifice :: Acknowledge

Title: Simple Request

Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. – Matthew 10:32

I love the simplicity of this verse.  Christ is not calling us to fight his battle for him.  He’s not asking us to explain the meaning of life or defend the Scriptures from the atheist attack.  His simple request is to “acknowledge” Him.

So what’s the benefit of this acknowledgment?  Nothing less than eternity with Christ.  How does a real man accomplish this task?  When riding the high of a personal victory…acknowledge Him.  When fighting the pain of loss, or defeat…acknowledge Him.

Peter was broached with a simple acknowledgment three times and failed. I believe that haunted and motivated him for the rest of his life.  Don’t let defeat keep you from moving forward and acknowledging Jesus.  Remember the prize for victory.

Real men rise to victory by acknowledging Christ.

I'm just an everyday red blooded Irish American. I love my wife Jill, and my kids, Audrey and Payton. I have worked in law enforcement for 15 years. I enjoy camping, shooting guns, and watching movies and sports(Go Beavs!). I'm inspired by those living a radical Christian life, and I love ministries committed to attacking social justice issues related to poverty and victimization through the love of Christ.
