Sat // Build :: Authentic

November 8, 2014Scott Mitchell

“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up” – Eph 4:29

Why is authenticity so hard to find today? It’s a pride thing and because of our pride we don’t want to show our weakness to others. We like to look successful. We like to appear as perfect as we can to others and we protect that image as much as we can. We hold ourselves in bondage of lies and stories.

The fact that Jesus knows our imperfections and we can’t hide them should encourage us to be real. If we can’t hide from Him why should we hide from others.

Every day, when we leave our homes, can we look in the mirror and say this is the real me. I am true and authentic in all I do. I am the same man that attends church and goes to work. I am the man people know what they get. Once we are real and authentic with one another we can start living a life of no lies, no acting, no playing the part and it will break the bondage of living different lies.

Real Men: Are authentic in all things.
