Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. – Matthew 10:32
This isn’t the kind of acknowledge that bikers do as they pass each other, or a head nod or a “what’s up?” There is a battle going on this text of Matthew 10. (If you have time, check out the whole chapter) Jesus is sending his disciples out to the towns to proclaim that “the kingdom of heaven has come near.” Not only speak but heal the sick and do good for God’s kingdom.
When you go out into the world and do good, there is always opposition by the Evil One and by others who are confronted with the truth. In some parts of the world today Christians are arrested, separated from family, and mistreated. That’s the high stakes of acknowledging, not just in word but also in action. A word of caution I would add is that it is critically important not just to tell others about God’s kingdom, but to do so in a way that shows his kingdom- a kingdom of love and grace.
Real mean acknowledge without fear
