As boys, how many of us were convinced at times of scary things lurking under the bed, in the closet or even in the bathroom plumbing? As we aged, we learned how “irrational” these suspicions were, taught to ignore fear and indoctrinated to believe only what is perceived with our five senses. “Nonsense,” we concluded. It likely was.
Now as men, Scripture demands we believe in angelic hosts and demonic forces — a spiritual reality we do not perceive physically. What? Is this like the Matrix? X-Files? Understandably, a battle for plausibility ensues. Nevertheless, we are challenged to engage in the realm of “spiritual forces” through prayer. Steadfast, persevering and warrior-like prayer. Pray today. Pray now. Pray.
