Mon // Surrender :: Pride

Title: Staying Humble Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. – Proverbs 16:18 One of my favorite basketball players over the past fifteen years has to be Brandon Roy. I was impressed with him when he was at Washington, but I was hooked when he came to Portland. He wasn’t much of […]

Fri // Steel :: Passion

Title: Let Him In Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. – Deuteronomy 6:5 You can’t love someone without first letting them in — all the way. Too often, we keep people at arm’s length as a way to protect ourselves from pain and […]

Fri // Steel :: Example

Title: An opportunity to serve people Set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. – 1 Timothy 4:12b Part of my job is sales. Mon // Surrender :: Control

Title:Headfirst right into a light pole! Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. – Proverbs 3:5 As seniors in high school, a few friends and I were walking briskly down a busy street. We were on our way to see a movie, and we were cutting our time close. One of the guys got something in his eye and grabbed the nearest shoulder. “I got something in my eye!” He said. “Just keep walking!”With his head down, he wiped his eyes with one hand and kept the other on his friend’s shoulder for guidance. He trusted his friend to get him to the movie theater. DOING!!! He went headfirst right into a light pole! We all laughed, but the trusted friend turned out not to be a perfect guide.We are fortunate to have a God that we can trust through the many different situations we find ourselves in, even when we have our eyes wide open! Take a moment to vocalize to Him this morning. Say it out loud. “Lord, I trust you today. I will follow your lead.” Real men Trust the Lord

Fri // Steel :: Integrity

Title: Do not deny your integrity Till I die, I will not deny my integrity. Job 27:5b I hope you aren’t having a day like Job. His story was crazy. If you didn’t know it, he lost everything; his wealth, his family, and even his health. He had a few friends left, but they accused […]

We aren’t talking about the cheap stuff. The Word of God fuels […]

Title: Winning with an infant For the battle is not yours, but God’s. – 2 Chr 20:15c At first glance, the idea of talking about Warriors and Battles on Christmas Eve is a little odd, right? But God’s plan of a battle and how to go about fighting is very different from ours. He begins […]
