Set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in faith and purity – 1 Timothy 4:12b
Paul saw that young Timothy could be an example to both the older and younger people. As men, we look up to someone older and wiser; behind us, we have younger people who look to us. This is a big responsibility.
So, no matter how we live, we are an example to someone. The verse lays it all out. Pursuing a life that Christ has called us to live will provide a model to those who see how we live. Will they see something different? Will they know the peace and happiness that we experience by the way we pursue Christ? Living for Christ will provide the example that we are called to set.
