Title: Love vs. fondness
Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength – Deuteronomy 6:5
One definition of passion is “A strong extravagant fondness or enthusiasm for anything. ” This goes in the bucket of hobbies, tastes, likes, and the things we enjoy.
The scripture today is talking about the definition that reads ” A powerful feeling of love and ardor (intense devotion).” The verse was written in the old testament, and Jesus repeats it in the new testament, and it’s the greatest commandment. The second definition is a way of life and Jesus has made this point very clear, this is not a passing phase we are maybe going through.
