Our flesh (sin) can trick us into the promise of freedom. Even from the first temptation, in the garden of Eden, man thought to do what they wanted was a way they could be in control and free. This way of thinking will corrupt our thinking, it will control our actions, and destroys our peace. Jesus, on the other hand, represents the truth that is, Himself. No other claims are valid, and nothing but truth can free us.
