Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. – John 8:32
Our flesh (sin) can trick us into the promise of freedom. Even from the first temptation, in the Garden of Eden, the man thought that doing what they wanted was a way they could be in control and free. This way of thinking leads to no good. It will control our actions and destroy our peace and freedom. Jesus, on the other hand, represents the truth, that is, Himself. No other claims are valid; nothing but His truth can free us.
