Set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in faith and purity – 1 Timothy 4:12b
Paul noticed that Timothy, even though he was young, could set an example for both older and younger people. As men, we often look up to those with more experience, while younger people look up to us. This gives us a real sense of responsibility.
No matter how we live, someone is watching and learning from us. The Bible makes this clear. When we follow the life Christ calls us to, we show others what it means to live for Him. Will people notice something different about us? Will they see the peace and happiness we have because we follow Christ? By living for Him, we set the example we are meant to show.
