Title: Integrity at all costs
Till I die, I will not deny my integrity. – Job 27:5b
I work for FedEx, and once I start making deliveries, I don’t have anyone supervising me. My job stands out because I have strict deadlines for getting packages off my truck. I also have to follow policies and procedures that sometimes make my work harder, but I stick to them because it’s the right thing to do. It would be easy to cheat and claim I delivered a package on time when I didn’t. But now, thanks to the internet, my work is tracked, and people can see where their packages are at any moment. Just to be clear, I don’t cheat; I value my integrity.
Integrity means doing the right thing even when no one is watching. What do we really gain by being dishonest? As men of God, we should do our best to keep our integrity, since we never know who might be paying attention. We don’t want to do anything that could bring shame to God. Every day, ask for the strength to stay true to your values, because when everything else is gone, integrity is what remains.
