Title: Love vs. fondness
Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength – Deuteronomy 6:5
One definition of passion is “A strong, extravagant fondness or enthusiasm for anything. ” This goes in the bucket of hobbies, tastes, likes, and the things we enjoy.
The scripture today discusses the definition that reads, “A powerful or strong feeling of love and ardor (intense devotion).” The verse today was written in the Old Testament, and Jesus repeats it in the New Testament, and it’s the greatest commandment. The second definition is a way of life, not a passing phase we are going through.
As you can see, there is a difference between fondness and love.
Real Men: Live a passionate life for God.
