Title: You have been adopted
Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. – John 8:32
Dogs can act pretty funny when they get excited. Some jump up in the air, while others bark loudly whenever the doorbell rings. And some dogs get excited in ways we all recognize.
I once met a dog named Jack who would run in tight circles whenever he was happy to see someone. His owner explained that Jack had spent his first three years mostly in a crate and was rarely allowed out.
Jack was eventually adopted by a new family and got to start over. He even had a backyard where he could run and play freely. Still, he often slipped back into his old habit of running in circles, almost as if he was still stuck in his crate.
We can be the same way with our old habits and sins. Sometimes it feels like we’re stuck, going in circles and not making progress. But Jesus has set us free. If you ever find yourself slipping back into old patterns, remember: we’ve been welcomed into a new family and given a new life in Him. That’s the truth.
Real Men are Set Free by the Truth.
