Title: Confess and repent

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. – James 5:16

I’ve learned much about confession over the years. Sadly, due more to personal experience than earnest study. I’ve learned that confession as “cathartic release” can become part of an addictive ritual—the rewarded “good behavior” that allows me to justify another round of sinful, selfish behavior. I’ve learned that confession, from a place of brokenness and conviction to a safe and supportive person or group, with the immediate affirmation of who I am in Christ, leads to the next vital step . . . repentance. Repentance means a change. A resolve to stop one thing and start another.

Real men confess and repent.
