Title: Acknowledge Sin

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. – James 5:16

There are several layers to confessing sin, two that we must focus on. One deals with the verse we see today. It says to confess to one another so we can tell someone who does not know our sin (s) what our sin(s) are. Then, the helping prayers and healing begin.

The other layer of confessing is to God, and this turns into acknowledging our sin with God. It’s not a confession of guilt or shame, but I agree with God that what I did is a sin. We can’t hide anything from Him; He knows everything, but we can agree with Him and ask for forgiveness for the agreed-upon sin.

” If we confess our sin, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse from all unrighteousness” 1 John 1:9

Real Men Confess to one another and God.
