Title: created or the creator?
Those who cling to worthless idols turn away from God’s love for them. – Jonah 2:8
Have you ever had a person or a thing that was really important to you? You would do anything to meet this person, or if there was a fire, this is the one item you would save? It’s the kind of thing you would struggle with giving up on. You’re not alone; everyone has things that are very important to them. We can define an idol as anything that takes the place of God, this can even be good things!
If we turn towards idols, we lose sight of who God is and end up worshipping the created instead of the creator. Think about it, are you worshipping the created or the creator?
Pray and ask God to reveal anything in you that is causing you to worship the created more than the creator.
