Title: Divide the pie
“Those who cling to worthless idols turn away from God’s love for them. – Jonah 2:8
We traditionally look at idols as an object, but what about “time”? Picture time like an entire pie, and it is ours to divide up. We cut a piece out for our family, we cut a piece out for our work, and we cut a piece out for ourselves. These three alone can take up most of the pie, now who gets the rest of the smaller pieces? We protect that “time” and decide each day who is going to get our time and how we are going to divide it up.
As we enter the workweek and start planning our time, we need to place God in everything we do. When God becomes the center of all that we do, we get to experience the work he does in our lives. If we give Him a smaller sliver of our precious time, we miss the blessing. Once God is at the center of our lives, time moves out of “idol” status.
Real Men Make God the center of their time.
