Title: created or the creator?
Those who cling to worthless idols turn away from God’s love for them. – Jonah 2:8
Have you ever had a person or something important to you? Would you do anything to meet this person, or if there was a fire, would this be the one item you would save? It’s the kind of thing you would struggle with giving upon. You’re not alone; everyone has something significant to them. We can define an idol as anything that takes the place of God. This can even be a good thing!
If we turn towards idols, we lose sight of who God is and worship the created instead of the creator. Think about it: are you worshipping the created or the creator?
Pray and ask God to reveal anything in you that causes you to worship the created more than the creator.
