Title: God knows best
This has been my practice: I obey your precepts – Psalm 119.56
To obey is to submit. In our time and culture, this idea of obeying or submitting to someone more significant than ourselves seems to be all but lost. When something inside, say’s “nobody tells me what to do!” then there are some rough edges of the heart that need to be smoothed out.
A precept is a commandment, often a moral or conduct related directive. You have to consider the source. The God who made us is telling us how to live, not just to have rules, but because He knows what’s best for us. When you give your kids a directive to get out of the street (or any other parental command), you are doing it for their good.
So obey. Listen to His words. Follow his precepts for living. And you will enjoy the life He has given you the best way possible.
