Title: Pride equals trouble
Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. – Proverbs 16:18
This word “pride” seems to be a root of all of our sinful nature and desires. The prideful thought and the prideful action get us into trouble, thinking we deserve everything we want.
Once we think we deserve something, prideful actions follow to ensure we get what we deserve or prove that we’re right. This leads to all kinds of nasty things. We become distant from God, and we get to thinking that we can do anything without consequence. This is not the case. The verse is self-explanatory we can expect to fall at some point. We can’t act independently of God’s will and expect good things.
Real Men: Recognize the destruction pride can have.
