Title: Pride Equals Trouble

Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. – Proverbs 16:18

Pride seems to be the root of our sinful nature and desires. The prideful thoughts and actions get us into trouble, thinking we deserve everything we want or can do things alone.

Once we think we deserve something, prideful actions ensure we get what we deserve or prove we’re right. This leads to all kinds of bad things. We become distant from God and think we can do anything without consequence. This is not the case. The verse is self-explanatory, and we can expect to fall at some point. We can’t act independently of God’s will and expect good things.

Real Men: Recognize the destruction pride can have.
