Title: The Prideful Actions
Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. – Proverbs 16:18
The word “pride” seems to be the root of all of our sinful nature and desires. We all have wants and desires that are not necessarily bad. It is prideful thought and prideful action that can cause us to get into trouble, thinking we deserve everything we want.
Once we think we deserve something or are correct, prideful actions follow to ensure we get what we deserve or prove that we’re right! This leads to all kinds of bad things. We become distant from God, and we get to thinking that we can do anything without consequence. This is not the case. The verse is self-explanatory, and we can expect to fall at some point. We can’t act independently of God’s will and expect good things.
