Title: Acknowledge Sin
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. – James 5:16
Confessing sin has a few layers, but let’s focus on two. The first is what today’s verse talks about: confessing to each other. When we share our sins with someone who doesn’t know them, it opens the door for their prayers and for healing to start.
The second layer is confessing to God. This means admitting our sin to Him, not out of guilt or shame, but by agreeing with God that what we did was wrong. We can’t hide anything from Him because He knows everything, but we can be honest, agree with Him, and ask for forgiveness.
” If we confess our sin, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse from all unrighteousness” 1 John 1:9
