I have adult children who do not attend church or appear to be grounded in faith. This has been with me for some time, and with hours of research, I have decided to rethink my perspective. Instead of focusing on what my children aren’t doing, like attending church, I focus on what they do that shows signs of faith, like serving the community. A pastor friend had told me that your adult children need to figure things out for themselves. Straying from the church temporarily doesn’t mean they’re abandoning their faith. They might need to walk this path to reach a good place. Try stepping back, supporting them where they are, knowing eventually God will use them when he is ready.
