Title: To get out of whack

Those who cling to worthless idols turn away from God’s love for them. – Jonah 2:8

Idols, We all have them, but I don’t realize I have them.  As men, we must know that anything that prevents our focus from being on God as number one is an idol.

Often, things like my job are Idols as I focus hours and hours on my career, and then the leftover tired me goes to God.

I work hard to prioritize God above my favorite idol, my cabin, as I sit and write these blogs from the cabin. God is not saying we can’t have things; we must be disciplined enough to ensure they are all secondary to HIM and his work for us.  

Real Men remove Idols and place God first.

Rebecca and I have lived in SW Florida since 2018, moving from Valparaiso, IN, where they raised three children, William III, Patrick, and Rachel. Bill and Rebecca have been married for 29 years. I currently work for White Lodging Services, and Rebecca is officially retired from school teaching. As a couple, we attend Cape Vineyard Community Church in Cape Coral, FL. Rebecca and I are very active at Cape Vineyard: Rebecca in children’s ministry, and I in band media and supporting facilities.
My interests include Hunting/Fishing and traveling with Rebecca to visit the children and grandchildren. My happy place is the UP of Michigan, where Rebecca and I share time their now.
