Title:  Pride to the side

Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. – Proverbs 16:18 NIV

We often hear people say he takes pride in all he does, or he lets his pride get in the way. Pride can feel good and sometimes helps us protect our image. But Scripture teaches that God opposes the proud and gives grace instead. Proverbs reminds us that learning to be humble is not something we do just once. It is a lifelong process that helps us shape our hearts to serve others, just as Jesus did.

Real men set aside their pride.

Rebecca and I have lived in SW Florida since 2018, moving from Valparaiso, IN, where they raised three children, William III, Patrick, and Rachel. Bill and Rebecca have been married for 29 years. I currently work for White Lodging Services, and Rebecca is officially retired from school teaching. As a couple, we attend Cape Vineyard Community Church in Cape Coral, FL. Rebecca and I are very active at Cape Vineyard: Rebecca in children’s ministry, and I in band media and supporting facilities.
My interests include Hunting/Fishing and traveling with Rebecca to visit the children and grandchildren. My happy place is the UP of Michigan, where Rebecca and I share time their now.
