Title: Pride Equals Trouble
Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. – Proverbs 16:18
Pride often lies at the heart of our sinful nature and desires. When we let prideful thoughts and actions guide us, we start believing we deserve everything we want or that we can handle life on our own.
When we start believing we deserve something, pride can push us to make sure we get it or to prove we are right. This attitude leads to problems. We can grow distant from God and start thinking our actions have no consequences. But that is not true. The verse makes it clear that if we act apart from God’s will, we will eventually face the results of our choices.
