Title: Bigger Plan
Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. – Proverbs 16:18
Peter’s actions when Jesus was arrested show how easy it is to stand firm out of pride, even when we’re mistaken. Most of us have let pride take over at times, just like Peter did.
When Peter cut off the ear of the high priest’s servant, it might have looked brave, but it was really a mistake. God doesn’t need us to step in for Him. There is always a bigger plan that we may not see.
How many times do we, like Peter, think God needs our help and miss the fact that He already has a greater plan?
If you notice pride getting in the way, think about Peter’s story. Letting go of pride isn’t weakness; it helps us see the bigger picture. Don’t let pride take over, or it might lead to regret. When we let go of pride, we make room for God’s wisdom and guidance.
