Title: Warning

Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. – Proverbs 16:18

The meaning of Pride – a feeling of deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from one’s own achievements, the achievements of those with whom one is closely associated, or from qualities or possessions that are widely admired.

Warning, our Pride is born out of humiliation and rejection and protects our hearts from further pain. Surrendering our Pride is an act of humility and an acknowledgment of our imperfect humanness. However, the humbling process can feel humiliating to the proud.

Essentially, this summarizes the sin cycle that we all battle. Pride blinds us to our need for God, and disconnection can ultimately lead to destruction. For us to know God and enjoy His blessings, we need a humble heart.

Real men surrender pride.

Rebecca and I have lived in SW Florida since 2018, moving from Valparaiso, IN, where they raised three children, William III, Patrick, and Rachel. Bill and Rebecca have been married for 29 years. I currently work for White Lodging Services, and Rebecca is officially retired from school teaching. As a couple, we attend Cape Vineyard Community Church in Cape Coral, FL. Rebecca and I are very active at Cape Vineyard: Rebecca in children’s ministry, and I in band media and supporting facilities.
My interests include Hunting/Fishing and traveling with Rebecca to visit the children and grandchildren. My happy place is the UP of Michigan, where Rebecca and I share time their now.
