Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall – Proverbs 3:5
WARNING! WARNING! PROCEED WITH CAUTION!!!
That is what I hear when I read this verse. Everyone has seen the guy trying to show off to his friends and failing miserably. It never fails when I begin to think that I am more important than I am. I get knocked down a few notches. Luke 14:7-11: Jesus tells a parable about sitting at the best seat in the house and then being asked by the host to move to the back. That will bruise the ego!
