Black Friday dead! The traditional start of the Christmas shopping season, held on the day after Thanksgiving, is a thing of the past now that retail stores are starting the Christmas shopping season on Thanksgiving day. Wed // Grit :: Perseverance
Title: It’s God’s race Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us… – Hebrews 12:1c I’ve never been able to run for an extended period and did not want to give up. To me, running and perseverance go hand in hand. There are times (perhaps today) you will want to give up. Stop […]
Tue // Fuel :: Listen
Title: Rest He says, Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. – Psalm 46:10a To actively listen, we must stop talking and usually stop what we do. God tells us to “be still” because he knows that’s often not our […]
Mon // Surrender :: Pride
Title: The Love Chapter Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. – Proverbs 16:18 1 Corinthians 13 is known as “the love chapter,” It details what real love is all about and gives us a picture of what life should be like if we genuinely practice loving another human being. Wed // Grit :: Committed
Title: Keep your commitments Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this – Psalm 37:5 Personally, one of the things I dislike about technology is how easy it is to be non-committal. If we don’t want to go to something, we can text someone and tell them we can’t […]
Tue // Fuel :: Prayer
Title: Don’t wait …pray continually – 1 Thess 5:17 Popeye always got himself out of trouble by eating spinach. But he still waited until it was almost too late. What would have happened if Popeye had eaten his spinach at the beginning of the cartoon instead of waiting until he was in a really tight […]
