Wed // Grit :: Committed
Title: Seek His Guidance Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this… – Psalm 37:5 This scripture should bring us great comfort if we apply it. I often fall short because I don’t commit my entire life to the Lord. I either forget to include Him, or I think I can […]
Tue // Fuel :: Listen
Title: Purposely Focus Be still and know that I am God, I will be exalted among the nations, and I will be exalted in the earth. – Psalm 46:10 The art of listening is one of the most challenging things to do. I catch myself looking at people speaking, but my mind is not focused on […]
Mon // Surrender :: Pride
Title: Haughty Eyes Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. – Proverbs 16:18 One of the things God detests is “haughty eyes” (Prov. 16:16). Haughty eyes are arrogant eyes that think they can accomplish anything in their own power. Haughty eyes believe they are better than everyone else. Haughty eyes are full of […]
Sun // Sacrifice :: Worship
Title: Follow Him Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Romans 12:1 “Take up your cross and follow me,” Luke 9:23. Have you ever considered the impact of these words? Christ is asking […]

Title: The safe adventure But seek first His kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well – Matthew 3:13a. Interestingly, it is in our DNA to seek a more stable and meaningful life for ourselves. Looking back in history, there are many examples of this. People are sailing and […]

Title: Moving Target Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. – John 8:32 I love target shooting, but I also like skeet and sporting clays because, in skeet and sporting clays, the target is moving. In our current culture, the truth has become a moving target. Godly men know […]

But you should be one anyway. And so should you and […]
Tuesday// Fuel :: Prayer
Title Just pray …pray continually – 1 Thess 5:17 Have you ever run out of gas? I have. I just wasn’t paying attention to my gas gauge and the next thing you know the engine just stopped. Continually watching to see how much gas you have is not something you do automatically. In fact, it’s […]

Title: Headfirst right into a light pole! Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. – Proverbs 3:5 As seniors in high school, a few friends and I were walking briskly down a busy street. We were on our way to see a movie, and we were cutting our time close. One of the guys got something in his eye and grabbed the nearest shoulder. “I got something in my eye!” He said. “Just keep walking!” With his head down, he wiped his eyes with one hand and kept the other on his friend’s shoulder for guidance. He trusted his friend to get him to the movie theater. BONG!!! He went headfirst right into a light pole! We all laughed, but the trusted friend was not a perfect guide. We are fortunate to have a God that we can trust through the many different situations we find ourselves in, even when we have our eyes wide open! Take a moment to vocalize to Him this morning. Say it out loud. “Lord, I trust you today. I will follow your lead.” Real men Trust the Lord
