Sat // Build :: Kingdom
Title: The big windshield But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. – Matthew 6:33 There is an analogy that you may have heard. “The windshield is bigger than the rearview mirror” To seek God’s kingdom, we need to look ahead through the big, […]
Fri // Steel :: Truth
Title: Live in freedom Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. – John 8:32 Sometimes the truth hurts. Like a steel pan slapped upside your head. Sometimes that might be precisely what you need to wake you up after it rings your bell. Lies are snares. They enslave us. […]
Thu // Warrior:: Engage
Title: What Enemy? “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”Ephesians 6:12 “If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a […]
Wed // Grit :: Influence
Title You have a choice. Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ. 1 Cor 11:1 In High School, our football coach had a sign on his wall. It read, “No one is completely useless. You can always serve as a bad example.” It’s kind of funny, but it’s also very true. No matter […]
Tue // Fuel :: Prayer
Title: Don’t run empty on prayer …pray continually – 1 Thess 5:17 I was on the side of the road, feeling helpless because I neglected to respond to the bright light on my dash telling me to refuel. It was hopefully the first and last time I run out of gas. Without gas in a […]
Mon // Surrender :: Control
Title: Headfirst right into a light pole! Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. – Proverbs 3:5 As seniors in high school, a few friends and I walked briskly down a busy street. We were on our way to see a movie and cutting our time close. One of the guys got something in his eye and grabbed the nearest shoulder. “I got something in my eye!” He said. “Just keep walking!” With his head down, he wiped his eyes with one hand and kept the other on his friend’s shoulder for guidance. He trusted his friend to get him to the movie theater. DOING!!! He went headfirst right into a light pole! We all laughed, but the trusted friend was not a perfect guide. We are fortunate to have a God that we can trust through the many different situations we find ourselves in, even when we have our eyes wide open! Take a moment to vocalize to Him this morning. Say it out loud. “Lord, I trust you today. I will follow your lead.” Real men Trust the Lord.
Sun // Sacrifice :: Stand
Title: Stand for the right thing Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. – 1 Corinthians 15:58 What profound truths or convictions do you stand for? When […]
Sat // Build :: Authentic
Title: Facade Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up. – Ephesians 4:29a When I think of the word Facade most days, I think of the exterior of one of my hotel buildings. Today my thoughts went to my facade as a Christian […]
Fri // Steel :: Integrity
Title: Protect your integrity Till I die I will not deny my integrity. – Job 27:5b I saw a quote from Dana Perino. She was the White House press secretary for George W. Bush. She said, ” Your personal integrity is your most valuable asset, and you must protect it at all costs.” I never […]
Thu // Warrior :: Weapons
Title: More Than Fighting Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. Ephesians 6:11 Confession time: I struggle to identify with the imagery of warriors and weapons. The zombie apocalypse is the only need I can come up with for weapons. The likelihood of that […]
