“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you” Matthew 6:33
These words of Jesus come from a collection of his teachings, commonly referred to the Sermon on the Mount. Here Jesus was saying that we don’t need to worry about food, clothing, or any of our needs. The Father provides for all of his creation, down to the smallest little birds in the air, and makes sure they have what they need. He knows what we need.
If we will seek after His kingdom, putting Him on the throne of our lives, consulting Him first, living our lives in ways that honor Him, then we can trust and know that he will provide all these things we need. Are you worried right now? Is your heart unsure of the future? Are you trying to drive the future toward your own agenda? Take a moment and pray about it. Ask God to be on the throne, and seek His kingdom, and He will take care of you.
