Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up. – Ephesians 4:29a
We all value authentic people. In fact, I don’t think there are many of us who would chose inauthentic people! We get a vibe from inauthentic people; they seem like they are lacking something or they are trying too hard. Now, add unwholesome talk to an inauthentic person and things can get interesting.
I have been in conversation and someone might cuss or make an off-color remark that seems so out of place, like they are trying to be someone they are not or trying to fit in.
Choose words that are based in authenticity, words that build, not words that tear apart. Choose the way to use words that build, not tear down.
