Title: So easy to tear someone down

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. – Ephesians 4:29

It only takes an hour to completely decimate a house with a bulldozer that took a month to build.
It’s been said that for every criticism we say to our spouse, children, family, and friends, It takes ten compliments to build them up again. 10!

It is SO easy for me to tear someone down; I quickly point out what is wrong and what needs to be done to fix it.  Yet when something is done well, or my children make the right choice, I am silent. It takes a conscious decision on my part to vocalize encouragement to build someone up.

Be conscientious of what you say and practice building others up.

Real Men build up, not tear down.
