Title: Work may seem arbitrary

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters. – Colossians 3:23

Sometimes our work can seem insignificant. It may pay little and reward even less. Because our lives are lived moment to moment, our jobs carry more meaning than we might realize. Every time we take a shortcut; every time we gossip; every time we misuse our leadership, we undercut God’s glory and bring shame upon ourselves.

Even though our work may seem arbitrary, we must remember that nothing we do in God’s presence is unnoticed or meaningless. He is a good Father who watches our every move even when nobody else cares at all. In those seemingly insignificant moments at work, our efforts should be aimed at pleasing God and bringing Him glory. He watches. He cares. He rewards. And He is all we need.

Does knowing He is watching you work effect your efforts? Do you attempt to work for human glory or God’s? What things do you need to change to reflect more of Jesus in your work?

Real Men invest for Jesus.
