Title: Who’s the Ruler
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. – Matthew 6:33
Who is the ruler of your kingdom? You? Money? Your wife or girlfriend? Your hobbies? Alcohol? Or is it God? He wants to be the ruler of your kingdom. In fact, He wants His kingdom to be your kingdom.
We tend to want to control and rule our own kingdoms. When we do that the Bible says we are building our house on sand. We need to build our lives on the rock of Jesus. It is the only sturdy foundation that will stand in the end.
This means that we need decide in our hearts that in the everyday moments of our lives we will seek His will to be done instead of our own. Then He becomes our King, and His “kingdom comes” and His “will be done” as Jesus suggests we pray to happen.
Do you seek God’s kingdom first or your own? What needs to happen in your life to make God the King of your life? What or who has been ruling you that you need to repent from?
