Title: The tongue has two edges to it

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up. –   Ephesians 4:29

Our tongue is a gift from God. Saying that quickly a few times can be a fun challenge! Most of us have tried tongue twisters before. We also enjoy tasting and eating food.

When we use our words to encourage, support, and build others up, we do a lot of good. Our speech can help us share the Gospel and guide people from darkness into God’s grace. Simple words like “Thank you,” “I love you,” or “How can I encourage you today?” can make a big difference.

But our tongue can also cause pain and problems. As Christians, we need to avoid gossip, cursing, lying, flattery, criticism, and bragging.

Take time each day to read God’s Word and protect your heart, so that your words are good and right. “From the mouth of the righteous comes the fruit of wisdom.” What we say shows what is in our hearts.

Real Men use the tongue for good.
