Title: Encouraging others
Encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” – Hebrews 3:13a
A few years ago, I went to my wife’s high school reunion. Since I was just a guest, I chose to keep to myself. I noticed the people who were standing or sitting alone, thinking they might not have been part of the popular crowd.
I began talking to a man with long hair and a beard who was standing by himself. He quickly invited me to stay nearby and chat. He told me he was never comfortable in crowds, so I was happy to keep him company.
We talked about many things, from school days to life afterward, and even touched on our faith. Halfway through the evening, David told me he had gone into ministry, moved away, and recently returned to the area, but no one recognized him. I introduced him to another person who was alone, and soon he was fully involved in the reunion.
Are there people in your life who might be loners and could use some encouragement?
