Title: Honor those who served
Be devoted to one another in brotherly love.
Honor one another above yourselves. – Romans 12:10
Men, we often hear this phrase and think of military branches; let’s not forget those. Instead, why not honor the disciples of Jesus? The disciples’ primary ministry was to serve under Jesus’ direction, spreading His teachings and demonstrating God’s love.
Disciples sent, as messengers of the Gospel, focused on serving. Jesus commissioned the disciples to preach HIS message of the Kingdom of God, teaching God’s love and the path to salvation. While empowered at times to heal the sick and cast out demons, the disciples consistently teach God’s word, focusing on Jesus’ example of selfless service. Tasked with being witnesses to HIS life, death, and resurrection, sharing transformative faith. A disciple’s role was never one of leadership or recognition, but rather one of service, as they shared His life.
