Title: Gift of freedom

Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. – Matthew 10:32

Independence Day, in the US, we take this day to celebrate the birth of a nation, and more broadly, the gift of freedom and liberty that Americans hold dear. It would be easy to say that American freedom is a direct reflection of the freedom described in the Bible. I say not exactly; that’s because Biblical freedom has a theological component that sets it apart. In the Bible, people are made free for a specific purpose: to acknowledge and serve God. Now we must understand God is the Holy Spirit, and where the Holy Spirit is, there is freedom. Therefore, we must live as free people, not using our freedom as a cover-up for evil but living as servants of God.

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom – 2 Corinthians 3:17

Real men acknowledge who God is

Bill Reilly

Rebecca and I have lived in SW Florida since 2018, moving from Valparaiso, IN, where they raised three children, William III, Patrick, and Rachel. Bill and Rebecca have been married for 29 years. I currently work for White Lodging Services, and Rebecca is officially retired from school teaching. As a couple, we attend Cape Vineyard Community Church in Cape Coral, FL. Rebecca and I are very active at Cape Vineyard: Rebecca in children’s ministry, and I in band media and supporting facilities.
My interests include Hunting/Fishing and traveling with Rebecca to visit the children and grandchildren. My happy place is the UP of Michigan, where Rebecca and I share time their now.
