Title: Humble before God
Exalt the Lord our God and worship at his footstool; he is holy. – Psalm 99:5
To give yourself up so that others may benefit. That loosely defines sacrifice in the context of our lives as Christians. To accomplish this, we must first humble ourselves to God. Such a simple concept, yet it is counter-intuitive to our human nature. Have you ever heard anyone pray, “Lord, make me more humble?” of course not; it’s just not something we usually think about.
There are over 60 scriptures that deal with humility or being humble, but I couldn’t find a single one on ‘It’sok to be self-centered.’Perhaps James gives us the end game concerning this when he writes: “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up” (James 4:10) NIV
Real men are humble.
