Title: Take Rest
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. – Matthew 11:28
“If you are weary and burdened, its not Jesus’ fault.” I remember hearing that from a friend of mine when I was on the edge of exhaustion. A full-time job, council member for my town, working on my master’s degree, a new baby, a new side company I had created, etc. were all taxing me. It was one of the hardest seasons of my life…and I was weary.
I was weary because I wouldn’t stop. I wouldn’t take time to reflect and trust in the Lord’s provision. Too much had to get done, too much relied on my availability, too much required my attention.
And all of this was driven by ego.
When I did choose to stop and reflect on God’s provision, I was amazed at how the important things still got done. He provided, He came through.
What do you need to do to rest in the Lord? What do you need Him to provide that is beyond your capabilities?
