Title: Deep Comfort
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. – Mat 11:28
The promise in Matthew 11:28 is meant to provide deep comfort. God tells us that He will give us rest. Who is this promise for? It states quite clearly that it is for ALL who are weary and burdened. I’m pretty sure that every one of us has moments of weariness, so it seems that, like all of God’s promises, it is for all of us. What’s the catch? When something seems too good to be true, there’s always a catch: something we must give to get. Notice here that there is no fine print. He makes it clear what we must do…come to Him. That’s it, not so hard after all. So, go to Him right now with your backpack full of burdens and hand over the stones you’ve been carrying.
