Title: Sacrificing dreams

In 1990, I dropped out of college to help raise our firstborn. It was a difficult decision because I was the first in my family to go to college. I knew it would be the first of many sacrifices made to help raise a family. It was worth it; our kids all call Jesus Lord. When I became a Christian, I knew the path I had to follow would be difficult, but the reward was instantaneous: I now had Jesus, and He was declaring my existence to the Father. I knew the sacrifices I made to become a follower came with a price, but man, what a feeling it is to know God now counts me as one of His sons.
