Title: In God We Trust

Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. – Matthew 10:32

Recently we celebrated 250 years of freedom. The Declaration of Independence mentions God four times: Nature’s God, endowed by their Creator, appealing to the Supreme Judge, and relying on the protection of divine Providence.

Our Pledge of Allegiance includes the phrase, “One Nation under God.”

The hymn “America the Beautiful” mentions God three times: “God shed His grace on thee,” “God mend thine every flaw,” and “May God thy gold refine.”
Our U.S. currency features the phrase, “In God we Trust.”

Throughout 47 presidencies in U.S. history, every president has made at least one public reference to God or the Bible. Some notable examples include George Washington praying for God’s protection and guidance in his farewell address, Thomas Jefferson calling Jesus’ teachings “the most pure, benevolent, and sublime,” Abraham Lincoln often citing biblical passages, Franklin D. Roosevelt encouraging U.S. soldiers to read the Bible, Dwight D. Eisenhower praising the Bible as “the one supreme source of revelation,” Ronald Reagan urging Americans to read and study the Bible, and Donald Trump publicly crediting God’s grace and presence in both personal and political contexts. As we celebrate our freedom, let’s remember where it truly comes from: Him.

Real Men Acknowledge God for our Country.

Rebecca and I have lived in SW Florida since 2018, moving from Valparaiso, IN, where they raised three children, William III, Patrick, and Rachel. Bill and Rebecca have been married for 29 years. I currently work for White Lodging Services, and Rebecca is officially retired from school teaching. As a couple, we attend Cape Vineyard Community Church in Cape Coral, FL. Rebecca and I are very active at Cape Vineyard: Rebecca in children’s ministry, and I in band media and supporting facilities.
My interests include Hunting/Fishing and traveling with Rebecca to visit the children and grandchildren. My happy place is the UP of Michigan, where Rebecca and I share time their now.
